1. In what ways does your media product use, develope and challenge the forms and conventions of real media products.

In todays lesson i looked at answering the question 'in what ways does your media product, use, develope and challenge the forms and conventions of a real media product?.'
To do this i evaluated whether i had used the codes and conventions of a music magazine.

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Obviously the main representation accurse in my front cover.  My main image for my front cover is a male, which suggest my magazines social group may be male orientated. He has longish dark hair which looks scruffy and is also holding a guitar this suggest that people within the social group are usually involved with playing music as well as listening to music. He is posing in a very confident, wild manner this also suggests that people within the social group are confident and behave in a wild manner thus attracting the social group. Moreover All of the bands or people named on my front on my front cover are male, showing that most of my target audience are male.
My double page spread contains an article on a 'male' rock band. all members are male this tells us that the social group is built up of mainly males. Moreover the language used in my double page spread is informal and uses swearing, this portrays the social group as rebellious therefore attracting the target audience.  The photograph used in my double page spread is very striking, the band look ‘fun’ and therefore suggests that the social group is very fun and out going.
My magazine features things like ‘Duff and the bottle’ which suggest that the social group is rebellious and extreme this would attract the social group appealing to there interest. Moreover the photography used is adventurous and stresses individuality. E.g. the photograph of Paul for the contents page shows him ‘swearing’ in a pose suggesting that this genre breaks the rules and has attitude, attracting the social group. In addition the photographs show a lot about the social group as they are not mainstream and represent a rebellious, individual look. E.g. they have big striking hair that stands out thus attracting the social group, which would appreciate the look.

3.What kind of media institution might Distribute your media product and why?
